What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, helps reduce the wrinkle lines that develop horizontally across the forehead as well as those that occur on the bridge of the nose between the eyes, improves frown lines and the vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows, raises sagging or droopy brows that are hooding the upper eyelid and places the eyebrows in an alert and more aesthetic position.
The normal youthful brows should be at the level of the supraorbital rim (upper bone above eyes) in males, and in females should actually be above the rim. When facial descent occurs, it can give the appearance of droopy eyelids when in fact the underlying problem is at the level of the brow. It is important that your surgeon assesses this upper facial 1/3 subunit carefully to provide the most complete operative plan to rejuvenate the forehead and eyelid position.
Dr. Eagan performs modern and minimally invasive techniques to reposition the brow and individualizes this to each patient he encounters and meets. Book your free consultation today to meet with Dr. Eagan and discuss your options!
What Can I Expect After the Procedure?
Since anesthesia or sedation is required, the patient must have a driver after recovering from the anesthetic. Most patients go home the same day. It’s important to keep the head elevated, even at night, to reduce swelling.
Ice packs can help relieve swelling. Swelling and bruising can last 1-3 weeks but there are agents such as Arnica which can help speed up this healing process. Strenuous activities must be avoided for about three weeks. Although there will be some immediate improvement, it takes several weeks to months for the full effect of the surgery to be visible.
